Saccharomyces Cerevisiae (5-20 BN)

Saccharomyces cerevisiae, or baker’s or brewer’s yeast, is a microorganism that plays a significant role in fermentation processes within baking and brewing.

Aside from industrial use, S. cerevisiae can be considered a probiotic agent due to its ability to improve gut health. B-vitamins and essential nutrients abound in S. cerevisiae, thereby aiding in digestive function and, possibly enhancing immune responses. It helps in the process of fermenting ethanol and carbon dioxide, which facilitates the process of leavening bread and brewing alcoholic beverages.

Incorporation of S. cerevisiae in foods or through supplements can help in getting a good gut microbiome.
